Francesca is an expert at leading the design of new and better services with users, communities, frontline staff and system leaders. She leads innovation processes and supports people and organisations to build their skills for innovation, and coaches and advises innovators to achieve the change they want to see. Her experience of public service delivery in different sectors gives her a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing public sector leaders.
Francesca leads on the delivery of our work in health and social care, with a particular focus on primary and community care. She work she has been involved in ranges from an exploration of the future of healthcare services in partnership with PwC; co-designing new types of hospitals in London with Shaping a Healthier Future; evaluating the Wigan Social Prescribing service with a view of supporting it to scale; designing and delivering an Innovation Fund for City and Hackney CCG.
Before working for Innovation Unit she was involved in the design and delivery of Nesta’s People Powered Health programme, aimed at supporting the adoption and spread of co-production approaches across integrated services for people with Long Term Conditions. She also worked with the World Food Programme in Ghana on community engagement and economic development with communities in receipt of food aid programmes.
