Joseph has experience working as a service design consultant across the public sector; leading projects from social research with vulnerable groups to transformation work at the service delivery, strategic, organisational and policy levels.

Before joining us, he was leading the public sector work at Engine Service Design for several years before working with Particple in leading a prototyping programme and running a programme of work to develop ethical practice in service design for the consultancy Uscreates.

He has led projects with organisations including: developing a collaborative commissioning framework and culture change programme for Lambeth CCG, generating an innovative commissioning model for Barnet Council, defining new ways of working for Southwark Council and their LSP and a range of other projects with the NHS and Local Authorities.

He is also experienced in working within the Charity & Voluntary sector as a strategic consultant and has sat on the management board of a homeless charity and a newly formed Primary Academy School. Joseph spends his spare time, covered in bicycle oil, running an innovative new model for community social enterprise called the Union Cycle Works in Deptford (South-East London), which supports young disadvantaged people into sustained employment.

Joseph is a member of a commission from the House of Lords examining the role of design in delivery more effective public services at lower cost.

Joseph also lent his expertise to Design Commision report 'Restarting Britain 2, Design and Public Services', acting as a member of the steering group.
