As Communications Officer, Lou works across all of our sectors. She also lends her communication expertise to our projects, as well as spending time coordinating internal communications.
Lou has a wide range of communications and engagement expertise. She can support traditional press and marketing techniques and also has experience of digital, developing websites and using social media platforms to engage and inspire. She is particularly interested in communicating stories and ethnography, and fully believes that great comms is the secret to great social change.
Lou has helped our project team to scale the Mental Health First Aid programme, and has supported the development of a networked community around the South Lambeth Integrated Care programme, as well as the Department for Education's Social Care Innovation programme. She is currently working closely with our education team on promoting and engaging people with our REAL Projects programme, as well as on our collaborative project with User Voice and Lankelly Chase, looking at the lives of people with severe multiple disadvantage.
Prior to joining the Innovation Unit, Lou spent four years at the House of Commons working for a number of different MP's. It is here that she discovered a flair for communications having spent a lot of time working on political and media campaigns across a wide range of platforms - on radio, online and on screen.
