Steve is a senior design strategy and service design consultant. His work focuses on the public sector, social enterprise, cross-sector innovation, and designing new services that enable people to live better lives. He helps organisations and communities use design to solve complex problems and to apply design processes and methods in an holistic, sustainable and human way.
He recently returned to London from four years based in the USA at international innovation consultancy Ziba Design. He continues to work internationally to understand and improve the lives of individuals in health, finance, transport, digital technology, education, the environment and social services.
He has also worked at Engine Service Design, Prospect, Uscreates and the UK Design Council, and his clients include NESTA, NHS England, Samsung, UnitedHealth Group, BBC, Fedex and Transport for London.
Steve studied Design at Goldsmiths, University of London whilst working as a digital interaction designer at Imagination. He also enjoys speaking at conferences and working with educational institutions such as Stanford University and Portland State University. His writing has featured in publications such as Touchpoint – The Service Design Journal and more recently Design Transitions with thoughts on the shifts in the understanding and application of design within and outside of the design industry.
