Tom Beresford

Project Coordinator and Researcher
Tom lends his expertise in research and project coordination across our portfolio of projects, bringing his particular passion for radical 21st Century Education alternatives to our education work.

Tom has project coordination experience at an international and domestic level and a strong background in social, political and economic study, with research experience at an advanced academic and practical level.

Tom is currently coordinating the Innovation Unit's flagship education programme REAL Projects - the UK's first randomised control trial of project based learning - and the development of the programme's learning strategy. He is also part of our research and design team who are working with the Lambeth Living Well Collaborative - a health, social care and well being collaborative focusing on supporting a particular cohort of people to build personal resilience and community-based interdependence - conducting research into the health of the 'Living Well Network' and designing the Collaborative’s new Living Well Communities Prototype.

Prior to joining the Innovation Unit, he spent nine months working on a variety of development projects centred on environmental sustainability and youth empowerment in rural El Salvador, having completed a Masters in International Development. These projects were in association with the people powered development charity, Progressio, and sought to place stakeholders at the heart of project design and implementation.
