Anne Schön
Service Design Associate
Using creative approaches to find solutions for social and complex problems has been a passion of Anne’s for over 10 years. As a service designer, Anne uses different design crafts to go through the process of understanding the problem, finding and developing solutions together with users. Her educational journey has spanned across service design, product design and communication design. For Anne, those skills are useful in developing concrete solutions while doing justice to the complexity of context.
Anne’s masters in Service Design has equipped her with the tools and experience to work on those complex issues. During her role at FutureGov she had the chance to learn and work with the public sector in the UK, partnering with local and national authorities as well as charities. The projects were very diverse, ranging from housing, social care, children’s services and health care to technical product development. This work inspired her to work more closely with charities including the British Red Cross on one of her biggest passion topics – helping migrating people and their families to arrive safely and build a fulfilling life in their new home. As senior service designer in the digital transformation team she helped the migration and displacement team to develop a future vision for their service and build a strategy to move towards that.
As a freelancer, Anne is striving towards continuing her passion for social impact. She works with EU Horizon projects tackling climate change in major European cities through transport and greening. With being a service design associate at the Innovation Unit, a new and exciting chapter is starting. To focus on system change and community based development further increases the impact that design and innovation can have for people and society.
