Jade Tang-Taylor
Associate
Jade is deeply passionate about design for social impact, community-led collective impact, and co-designing with people of lived experience. She is an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and in particular, is exploring how these concepts are expressed in an Aotearoa context. Jade is a firm believer in tangata tiriti meaningfully partnering and building relationships with tangata whenua to collaborate on innovative solutions for thriving societies.
Jade previously served Innovation Unit as Director of Innovation and Partnerships in Aotearoa, New Zealand, with a focus on building meaningful relationships across all levels: from grassroots community, not-for-profit and NGO leaders, through to local and central government changemakers. Her main priority as Associate is continuing to enable, enact, and encourage social innovation, social change, and systems change.
Prior to joining Innovation Unit, Jade worked on a myriad of game-changing projects with change-making organisations. She was part of the leadership group at NZ’s largest philanthropic organisation Foundation North, an associate at the Centre for Social Impact, a design thinking lecturer at AUT University, co-founder of the social change creative agency Curative, and chapter host of CreativeMornings in Auckland, where she is still connected to the global community.
Alongside Innovation Unit, Jade currently holds a few governance and advisory roles: HFWSLG (Healthy Families Waitākere Strategic Leadership Group), NACEW (National Advisory Council for Employment of Women) and MECAG (Ministerial Ethnic Community Advisory Group) as well as being a proud mum of one, and a lover of cheese.
